Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple CL PIPEWELDER 1ST for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.

Additional hourly PD is 18.38 for those that live over 75 miles with valid utility bill. This new rate will require a minimum of 2 hours worked daily and is capped at 8 hours maximum per day. There is NO differentiation for Premium or No Premium.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Minimum 3 years of Pipe welding experience.
Must have experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), also known as Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding".

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for performing pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. The shipyard environment is an around the clock manufacturing setting. Ingalls shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, a Welder may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. We stress the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards. Types of metal materials with a variety of welding processes; the most basic of which are, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding" and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) also known as "wire welding." Must pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position (restricted). The pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipes. GTAW (TIG) process used for root pass, 11018 electrodes used for weld fill portion and cap.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School diploma or equivalent.

WORK HOURS:
5/40, workweek.
1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.
