Job Title: Billing Representative
Location: The Woodlands
Job Duration: 3+ months (with possible extension)
Shift Timing: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25/hr. (W2)
Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Billing Representative to join a healthcare billing team. This role is responsible for analyzing patient accounts, processing third-party insurance claims, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of hospital/medical billing procedures and hands-on experience with insurance carriers.
Key Responsibilities:Analyze patient accounts, research account history, and prepare accurate insurance billing within specified timeframes.
Process billing for Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Champus, HMO, PPO, POS, Workers’ Compensation, and special contracts.
Review accounts for errors, adjustments, and credits, issuing corrected entries when necessary.
Collaborate with hospital departments (Medical Records, Accounting, Labs, Radiology, PT, Infusion Suites, etc.) to resolve coding or charge issues.
Contact insurance companies and/or patients to obtain missing information to complete the billing process.
Maintain working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes relevant to services rendered.
Monitor compliance regulations to ensure accuracy and conformity.
Prepare and manage daily, weekly, and monthly reports including 72-hour reports, lab compliance reports, productivity reports, and error forms.
Minimum 3 years of hospital/medical insurance billing experience involving patient interaction, medical terminology, and use of billing systems.
Strong knowledge of third-party billing procedures and healthcare regulations.
Proficiency in EPIC, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), electronic billing systems, imaging software .
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle special projects.
