Job Responsibilities
• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Independent Living Dining Room for dinner, as well as the adjacent Bistro for breakfast and lunch. The role includes, motivating and coaching of employees as required, including service recovery, a high level of hospitality, and customer service
• Support the dining team with food production planning, waste management, record keeping, follow up, and modification based on client volumes; working well with back-of-the-house teams is essential
• Assist with the flow of day-to-day operations on the floor to ensure that all residents, clients and peers are treated with respect and empathy
• Assist with training and development of staff, encouragement and reinforcement of policies and procedures in a respectful and positive environment
• Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are always enforced
• Assist in dealing with staff related issues such as vacation requests, progressive discipline, etc.
• Ensure adherence to all of ARAMARK SeniorLIFE+ and Client Community Policies and Procedures
• Ensure adherence to ARAMARK SeniorLIFE+ and Client Community Health and Safety Policy
Qualifications
• 5+ years food service management experience in long-term care, or residential community is preferred
• Demonstrated leadership; decision making; problem solving and communication skills
• Working knowledge of health and safety matters surrounding the area of coverage
• Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Good knowledge of nutrition and safe food handling certification
• Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment when making decisions
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to follow detailed instructions
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to clientele and coworkers
• Associate’s Degree in hospitality, culinary, or similar subject matter is preferred
• Certified Dietary Manager certification preferred.
• Certified Food Manager certification required.
