As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic at McCarthy Tire, you’ll perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) , diagnose mechanical issues, and repair or replace components on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently every day.
To succeed in this role, you must be able to perform the following duties:
Maintain a clean and safe work area , complying with OSHA and company safety standards.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment.
Diagnose and complete moderately complex mechanical and electrical repairs .
Provide guidance and support to other maintenance personnel as needed.
Use vehicle diagnostic systems and onboard computer tools to identify faults and initiate repairs.
Communicate with supervisors regarding additional work or any delays in repair timelines.
Assess and repair structural or mechanical damage using industry best practices.
Respond to emergency breakdowns via on-site service calls.
Perform vehicle safety checks and general maintenance tasks as required.
Must be at least 18 years old .
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record .
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical .
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must provide your own tools suitable for heavy-duty vehicle repair.
Experience working on heavy-duty diesel trucks and special-purpose vehicles.
Skilled in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems .
Proficient with vehicle diagnostic tools and software .
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment .
Industrial equipment maintenance experience is a plus.
