Academy of Warren is currently hiring Spanish Teachers for the 2025/2026 school year. 

The academy will be hosting a job fair on May 22nd, 2025, from 10am to 6pm. Excellent opportunity to meet the team and tour the campus. The job fair will be held at 13943 E. 8 Mile Road, Warren, MI 48089

Academy of Warren provides a free K-8 education to students who live in or near Warren, Michigan. We aim to equip urban students to become literate, self-motivated, and life-long learners. Students are taught in a renovated state-of-the-art facility with updated resources and an engaging curriculum designed to build strong learning STEM concepts and standards. Some of our renovations include 36 remodeled classrooms; new athletic facilities; a library suite; a science lab; a black box theater, a cafeteria, and more.

Job Summary :

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Spanish Teachers to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging lessons and a dynamic learning environment while fostering a love for the Spanish language and culture. The Spanish Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

• Develop and deliver high-quality Spanish language instruction to students

• Incorporate cultural activities and resources to enhance language learning and promote an appreciation of Spanish-speaking cultures.

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.

• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.

• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.

• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.

• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students

• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff

• Regular and predictable attendance

Cognitive Demands:

• Supervision of multiple students at once

• Establishing routines and procedures

• Maintaining a safe and orderly environment

• Create and implement instructional plans

• Participate in continuous professional development

• Effective oral and written communication skills

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs

• Stand and walk frequently

• Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat

• Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year

• Withstand a moderate noise level

• Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary

• Assist/lift students, as necessary

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Spanish, Linguistics, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

• Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject. 

• Proficiency in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
